Parklife weather forecast: It could be a mixed bag, so best to prepare for sunshine

Plan for all eventualities and you should be reet... kind of

Bucket hats - and ponchos - at the ready... it's time for Parklife once again. The huge festival at Heaton Park returns this weekend.

Outfit planning is in full-flow, but what to wear? Will that new pair of trainers get caked in mud? Is that neon string vest the best idea? Well, best plan ahead - the weather's going to be fairly mixed, according to forecasters.

Met Office experts reckon temperatures in Manchester will top 25C on Saturday - by around 4pm - and 23C the same time on Sunday. There's a slight change of a spot of rain at around 7pm on Saturday, and at around 5pm on Sunday afternoon, they add.

While the sun will make an appearance, there will be a bit of cloud, the Met Office says.

The BBC's forecast is a tad more dramatic. Experts at the corporation agree that Saturday will be pleasant, with plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the high 20s.

Sunday's a different story, unfortunately.

Beeb forecasters say there's a strong change of rain - around 64 per cent - by 11am. There could even be THUNDER AND LIGHTNING by 2pm, when there will be a 70pc chance of showers.

Things may dry up, they reckon. But it doesn't make for great reading. They're pretty sure it's going to tip it down.

So... best advice we can give - plan for all eventualities.

Bosses have confirmed you're allowed to take in bottles of lotion to protect you from the rays of up to 200ml. (For a list of what you're not allowed to take in, click here).

Unforunately, you can't take an umbrella in the compound. We're thinking plastic poncho, cag in a bag/mac in a sac.

Have fun - and stay safe.
